Alan and I decided to forfeit one of our date nights to do a family date night. We had a summer themed movie party. We told the girls about it a week or so in advance, and the build up for it was almost as much fun as the actual party! Maci and Payton helped us pick out all the plates, cups, napkins, and the perfect food and drinks for a summer movie party. They were so excited. On the day of, they helped me get everything set up, and then they got all dressed up for daddy's arrival. Maci insisted that it be a pajama party, although Payton wanted to wear a party dress. We went with Maci's idea this time, and we'll do it Payton's way next time. Once they were dressed, and the food was ready, they sat still on the couch for about an hour waiting (not so patiently) for daddy to come home. They only got up from time to time to steal a little popcorn or some chips. When daddy got home, he announced that the movie of the evening would be Tinkerbell. Excellent choice, daddy! They LOVED it! Anyway, it was the most perfect evening with my sweet family. Maci proclaimed, about 30 minutes into the party, "Movie nights are COOL. We need to do it again!" I think she's right!

My parents and sister came in for a visit this weekend. It was meant to be a weekend spent in the sun, but ended up a weekend spent in the house due to my little sicklies. We all had a great time anyway. The girls adore any chance they get to boss around their very compliant grandparents. Fun weekend.
